Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Eased mobile application ("the Service," "Eased," "we," "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We designed Eased to keep your personal reflections on your device.
1. Summary
- Your onboarding profile (name, life context, preferences, voice selection, notification times) is stored locally on your device in iOS UserDefaults. It is not sent to our servers.
- Notes you save are stored locally on your device.
- Notifications are scheduled on-device via Apple's local notification system. We do not operate push servers and do not receive notification delivery data.
- Subscription billing is handled by Apple. We never see your payment information.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers, behavioral analytics, or fingerprinting.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
During onboarding you tell Eased: a name (any name you choose), an age range, a brief life-phase description, optional tags about what you're carrying, what's hard, what grounds you, and which voice and tone you'd like notes in. This information stays on your device and is used only to match notes from the bundled library.
2.2 Information generated by your use
Notes you mark "saved," your notification times, and a small per-app counter (days since first launch) are stored locally to power on-device features. None of this is transmitted to us.
2.3 Information collected automatically by Apple
The Apple App Store collects information about app downloads, subscription transactions, and aggregate analytics on its own behalf, governed by Apple's privacy policy. We may receive anonymized aggregate App Store reports (e.g. country-level install counts) but no personal identifiers.
2.4 What we do not collect
We do not collect contacts, photos, microphone audio, location, calendar, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or device fingerprints. The app does not request these permissions.
3. How we use information
- To match each daily note to the profile you set up.
- To deliver notifications at the times you chose, via the iOS local-notification system.
- To remember your preferences across launches.
4. Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing. Limited disclosures may occur in the following cases:
- Apple: Subscription billing, App Store delivery, and crash reports (if you have opted in to share crash data with developers in iOS Settings) are handled by Apple under its terms.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers: If Eased is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred to the successor, subject to this policy.
5. Notifications
Eased uses Apple's local-notification system. When you enable notifications, the iOS system schedules them on your device based on the times you set. We never push notifications from a server. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Eased.
6. Data retention and deletion
All on-device data persists until you delete it. You can:
- Reset the app from inside the Settings screen of the app (planned), or
- Delete the app from your device — this removes your profile, saved notes, and notification schedule.
7. Children
Eased is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact hello@eased.app and we will take appropriate steps.
8. Security
Because your data lives on your device, the most important security boundary is your device passcode and Apple ID. We rely on iOS sandboxing and standard system protections. No method of digital storage is perfectly secure; if you become aware of a vulnerability, please email us.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information about you. Because Eased keeps profiles on-device, you can exercise these rights directly: open the app, view or edit your profile, save or export entries, or delete the app to erase data. 10. International users
Eased is offered globally through the Apple App Store. Because data is stored on your device, no cross-border transfer occurs through us. Apple's handling of App Store transactions is subject to Apple's own policies and applicable transfer mechanisms.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
